Into the Gorge and Off the Grid
~ Wendy's at Wattle Park ~

Wattle Park is a working sheep farm in the middle of the Port Germein Gorge that was first established in 1854.

Wendy’s at Wattle Park is a stone homestead built in 1938 that has recently been converted into a farm-stay Bed and Breakfast that accommodates up to 6 people.

Wendy’s welcomes everyone, but you will have to save your uploads for another time as there is no internet here and no mobile phone service.

So kick back, enjoy a social detox and relish this glorious natural setting.

Wattle Park is located in the middle of the Southern Flinders. We might be ‘off the grid’, but we’re located only 20 minutes from Wirrabara, Port Germein and Melrose. There’s plenty to see and do in any direction.

Your stay includes breakfast provisions for you and your crew from local producers including Booleroo Meats bacon, fresh eggs, orange juice, milk, bread, tea and coffee.

So what are you waiting for?

Accommodation on the Farm

Breathe deeply, exhale and take the time to enjoy the stunning scenery and amazing wildlife. Appreciate the kangaroos grazing, the goannas, sleepies and spikies wandering past and listen to the amazing bird songs. Watch a wedge-tailed eagle circling overhead or smile at the sound of a kookaburra sitting in a tree laughing at you.

Do as little or as much as you like. We have walking trails, including one to Blesing’s Garden Glenholme Vineyards, where you can enjoy wine tasting, Devonshire teas or listen to David on the baby grand piano.

Wattle Park is a working sheep farm and if your stay coincides with farming activities that are suitable for ‘tag-alongs’, then you are more than welcome to join us and have a good look behind the scenes.

Enjoy the Southern Flinders

If you are into mountain biking, there is plenty to explore here on farm or we are only 20 mins from Melrose – the home of mountain biking in the Mid North.

Wattle Park is also 20 minutes from Wirrabara, home of spectacular silo art and a Producers Market on the 3rd Sunday of every month.

Port Germein is 20 minutes the other way, originally home of the longest wooden jetty in the southern hemisphere, great crabbing and fishing and a Producers Market on the 4th Sunday of every month.

There are also great local tourist drives, good pubs with fantastic tucker, fantastic cafes where you can get your coffee fix and sweet treats, and some great local shops that showcase artisan products you won’t find anywhere else – Cliffs Closet in Booleroo Centre and Atore in Melrose are just a couple that come to mind.
